Living Learning Communities 和 Themed Living Communities

The University of New Engl和’s First Year Experience Living Learning Communities (LLCs) 和 Themed Living Communities (TLCs) provide an introductory leadership experience within the context of a residential setting.

提供给一年级新生, you will have the opportunity to move to campus early to participate in an off-campus retreat to develop a sense of community with other LLC/TLC members.

学生 interested in an LLC or TLC for Fall 2023 must go through one of the 夏季迎新会 2023年6月.

LLC students learn through a cohort style of learning by taking one or more linked courses together throughout the year. TLC students take advantage of theme-specific programming opportunities.

These communities are open to specific majors only.

The 健康的职业 Living Learning Community is an opportunity for first year students in the Westbrook College of 健康的职业 to fully explore their chosen career path, 培养成为领导者 in their field 和 successfully transition to the college environment. 健康的职业 LLC students will take at least two common courses over the year, receive additional support 和 mentoring from a collaborative team of faculty 和 staff, 和 engage in a variety of experiential learning opportunities. Please note Medical Biology students 和 other Pre-Medicine majors are not eligible to participate.

海洋学习社区

The Marine Living Learning Community is an opportunity for 海洋科学, 海洋事务, 和 海洋创业 majors to more fully explore their area of study, 培养成为领导者, 和 successfully transition to the college environment. Marine LLC students will take at least two common courses over the year, receive additional support 和 mentoring from a collaborative team of faculty 和 staff, 和 engage in a variety of experiential learning opportunities on the shores of coastal Maine.

These communities are open to students in any major.

Individuals participating in the 走向全球社区 are students of the world. UNE strives to empower students in becoming global citizens. 走向全球社区 members will explore all the world has to offer through self-reflection activities, 项目, 文化体验, 还有服务项目和务虚会. 薰衣草社区

The 薰衣草社区 is for students who identify as LGBTQIA+ or as allies of the community. This is first 和 foremost a space for LGBTQIA+ identified individuals to feel safe 和 thrive.

Residents of the 康乐民族社区 are students who have an interest in any of the various recreational opportunities UNE offers including outdoor recreation, 校内运动, 俱乐部运动. This community is directly connected with staff members in 户外休闲 和 Club Sports/Intramurals who will introduce students to the many opportunities for recreation at UNE 和 beyond. These students will have the chance to explore Maine’s beauty, compete for an intramural championship t-shirt, 和, 简单地说, have fun with others who share a common interest.
